Job summary

Withum is seeking 2029 graduates for our Verification Internship. Gain hands-on experience supporting tax professionals through technology-driven solutions, with in-person work from late January to mid-April 2027.

You’ll use SurePrep 1040SCAN OCR to verify data, input client tax data, and help maximize software efficiency for a paperless workflow. Opportunities to learn in a collaborative team environment and grow professionally are included.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be able to work in person and commit to 20+ hours weekly.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Accounting majors preferred; 2029 grads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support tax professionals using SurePrep 1040SCAN OCR tools.
• Verify and input 1040 tax data submitted by clients.
• Maintain accuracy of software outputs for tax documents.
• Enhance 1040SCAN efficiency for paperless workflow.
• Help resolve errors in 1040SCAN operations.
• Distribute completed work using XCM for efficient project flow.

Job Description

Withum is seeking 2029 grads for our Verification Internship. As a verification intern, you will gain hands on experience supporting tax professionals through technology driven solutions. Internship is conducted in person and will run from late January through mid-April 2027.

How You’ll Spend Your Time

• Utilizing software called SurePrep that utilizes 1040SCAN and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology and verify efficiency of the software’s operations
• Verifying and inputting 1040 tax data submitted by clients and scanned into software
• Constantly focusing on details and accuracy of the software’s functionality to successfully prepare tax documents for clients
• Helping maximize efficiency in the 1040SCAN software to facilitate paperless tax workflow
• Providing solutions to errors in 1040SCAN operations to ensure effective results from the software
• Utilizing XCM to ensure proper distribution of completed work to the appropriate person to create efficiency in the completion of tax projects
• Working with the tax department workflow and document storage tools

For positions in California, the compensation for this position ranges from $20-25 per hour.

Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
