Job description

As the Tax Transfer Pricing Experienced Manager, a national business line role, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of a full range of tax and transfer pricing services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries and market segments. You’ll collaborate closely with partners and managing directors while working with managers, associates, and other teammates from around the globe to help clients identify and solve complex business problems through deploying a wide range of Grant Thornton solutions in a collaborative manner, ensuring quality above all, because together is how we succeed.

Your day‑to‑day may include:
  • Managing and monitoring multiple client services teams on client engagements; planning, executing, directing, and completing international tax projects; providing innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and managing engagements to budget.
  • Managing the delivery of a full range of transfer pricing services, advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the tax implications of their international operations as well as coordinating U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to assist in developing an efficient worldwide tax strategy.
  • Working with tax partners and transfer pricing specialists to analyze and resolve international tax and finance issues and consult with clients on a wide range of tax and transfer pricing issues.
  • Incorporating financial information into a proprietary financial model and conducting economic, financial, and accounting analyses.
  • Maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and make sure deadlines are met.
  • Conducting primary and secondary review of complicated or complex transfer pricing deliverables to ensure quality.
  • Working closely with partners, managers, and associates to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, Tax Supply Chain, Engineering or related fields and relevant experience in transfer pricing (evaluated by Solution Family Leader).
  • Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, Business, Statistics, Tax or Supply Chain.
  • Minimum five to seven years of progressive tax and transfer pricing experience in public accounting, consulting, or academia.
  • Strong experience in tax and transfer pricing management in an integrated client service team.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast‑paced, interactive, results‑based team environment.
  • Strong computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can travel as needed.

The base salary range for this position in Illinois only is between $128,000 and $192,000.

  • Benefits for internship positions: Grant Thornton interns are eligible to participate in the firm’s medical, dental and vision insurance programs and the firm’s employee assistance program. Grant Thornton employees may be eligible for a discretionary, annual bonus based on individual and firm performance, subject to the terms, conditions and eligibility criteria of the applicable bonus plan or program. Interns and seasonal employees are not eligible for bonus compensation.
