Job summary

Whitecap Search seeks a tax professional with extensive ASC 740 experience to join our team in New York. You will prepare and review tax provisions and collaborate with auditors and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting.

The role covers current and deferred tax calculations, ETR analysis, and foreign reporting components across multi-entity structures. Strong Excel, tax software, and GAAP knowledge are essential, with CPA or EA required.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of public accounting experience with ASC 740 exposure.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA or EA required.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and GAAP reporting.
• Experience with public companies or SPACs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review ASC-740 tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations.
• ETR reconciliation and analysis.
• Manage deferred tax asset and liability roll-forwards.
• Perform valuation allowance assessments.
• Analyze temporary vs. permanent differences.
• Deferred tax analysis including stock-based compensation and true-ups.
• Prepare audit-ready provision workpapers and respond to auditor requests.
• Identify and resolve technical issues impacting financial reporting.
• Collaborate with auditors and client finance teams.
• Translate tax positions into financial reporting impact.
• Prepare and review federal, multi-state, and consolidated tax filings (Forms 1120, 1065, 1120-S, 1040s).
• Handle foreign reporting components (Forms 5471).
• Support international calculations including GILTI.
• Identify tax adjustments and planning opportunities.
• Assist with pre-audit support and reconciliations.
