Overview

The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with demonstrated technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to review returns and supervise staff. A CPA or EA license is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of tax law and compliance, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.

Responsibilities
  • 4–6 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review corporate, partnership, fiduciary, nonprofit, and individual tax returns.
  • Proficient in tax research, planning, and problem resolution.
  • Skilled in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystems FX).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communicator with strong client service orientation.
  • Supervise, train, and provide feedback to staff and senior associates.
  • Manage engagements from planning through completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and budget compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a designated group of clients, including participation in client meetings.
  • Review and respond to IRS and state agency communications on behalf of clients.
  • Support managers and partners with tax planning, research, and client consultations.
  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Perform additional administrative or client service tasks as assigned by firm leadership.
Working Conditions
  • Involves working in the firm's office or on the client's premises. Work on the client's premises may require the use of the team member's personal car.

Experience / Training
  • CPA or EA license preferred
  • 4-6+ years progressive tax experience, including 3+ years in management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance and planning.
  • Proficiency in tax software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $98,000
