Qualifications

  • CPA eligibility required or active licensure
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required; Master’s preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements
  • Interest in tax technology and continuous improvement is a plus
  • Strong supervisory, coaching, and development skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and review complex federal and state tax returns for diverse clients
  • Identify tax planning opportunities to minimize tax exposure
  • Conduct tax research and clearly communicate findings to clients and teams
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff including reviews of workpapers
  • Coordinate multiple client engagements, deadlines, and budgets

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor with an active or qualified for their CPA license to join a growing CPA firm serving clients across the Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach markets. This role is ideal for a public accounting professional with broad expertise who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing complex returns, mentoring staff, and providing practical tax planning guidance to privately held businesses, high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, estates, and other closely held entities as well as maintain a future focus on tax technology and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth clients.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and advise clients on strategies to minimize tax exposure and support business or personal financial goals.
  • Perform tax research, interpret federal and state tax guidance, and communicate findings clearly to clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior accountants, including reviewing workpapers and returns for accuracy, completeness, and technical quality.
  • Coordinate multiple client engagements, deadlines, budgets, and deliverables during busy season and throughout the year.
  • Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and client inquiries as needed.
  • Collaborate with partners on client advisory opportunities, process improvements, and practice growth initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for or active CPA license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s in Taxation, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, ideally with a CPA firm serving closely held businesses and individual clients.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements from planning through delivery.
  • Experience and desire to continue working within tax specific technology a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, and develop junior team members.
  • Strong tax research, analytical, written communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and professional tax software; experience with CCH, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, Engagement, Fixed Assets, or similar platforms preferred.
