Job summary

Tucson Electric Power Company is seeking a Manager of Income Taxes to oversee the income tax function for UNS Energy and affiliates, ensuring compliance, financial reporting, planning support, and risk management.

You will lead tax strategy development, partner with FP&A, Legal, Rates, Treasury and operations, monitor regulatory developments, and drive improvements in tax processes, data, and controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 24 accounting credits.
• 8+ years of directly related experience.
• Extensive knowledge of income tax law and accounting.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong integrity, accountability and judgment.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of tax strategy including rate management and planning initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, Rates, Treasury and operations.
• Monitor legislative/regulatory developments and support compliance efforts.
• Support automation and modernization of tax processes.
• Provide income tax support across affiliated entities ensuring consistent tax positions.
• Interpret and apply complex tax laws for transactions and reporting.
• Manage preparation and review of tax compliance, provision and reporting.
• Maintain tax risk and control framework including SOX controls.
• Coordinate audit readiness with external auditors and authorities.
• Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, data quality, and controls.
• Provide day-to-day direction and development of tax staff.
