Job Details

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corps, C corps, and trusts/estates
  • Research complex tax issues and bring practical solutions back to clients
  • Assist with tax planning strategies aimed at minimizing client liabilities
  • Review staff accountant work and provide coaching and technical guidance
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive, ongoing communication
  • Spot tax saving opportunities and other advisory services clients might not know to ask for
  • Handle IRS and state tax notices, audits, and examinations
  • Take part in year end tax planning meetings with clients
  • Manage several engagements at once while hitting deadlines
  • Stay sharp on the latest federal and state tax law changes
  • Partner with Managers and Partners on complex engagements and special projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA license or actively pursuing one, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 6+ years of recent public accounting tax experience
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing both individual and business tax returns
  • Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations
  • Experience conducting tax research and planning
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
