Job summary

H&R Block in Virginia Beach is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional to serve clients with diverse tax needs and to participate in advanced tax training. You will conduct tax interviews and prepare complete and accurate returns while leveraging expert support from the franchise network.

Strong communication skills and relevant credentials are preferred, with opportunities to grow client relationships and offer additional products and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (preferred)
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification (preferred)
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Provide clients with IRS support
• All certification levels can provide tax notice services
• Circular 230 associates can provide audit representation
• Mentor and support teammates

Joining H&R Block1 as a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional means you’ll serve clients with diverse tax needs with the support of an expert team, dedicated to providing you with advanced tax training you’ll need to be successful.

1 - This office is an independently owned and operated franchise office operating under an agreement with H&R Block. Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment2
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
