Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Professional to assist clients with diverse tax needs and to deliver high-quality service with the support of a knowledgeable team.

You will conduct interviews (in-person and virtually), prepare accurate tax returns, and help grow the business by increasing client retention and offering additional products and services.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience completing individual returns and complex returns.
• Ability to conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and virtually.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support including audit representation where applicable and appropriate.
• Mentor and support teammates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Your Expertise:

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
