Job summary

H&R Block in Virginia is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional to serve clients with diverse tax needs. You will gain advanced tax training and work with an expert team to deliver accurate tax preparation and IRS support.

Expect engaging client interviews via face-to-face and virtual channels, with the chance to contribute to business growth and client retention. This role offers flexible scheduling within a seasonal program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face to face and through virtual tools – video, phone, chat, email
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Provide clients with IRS support

Preferred Qualifications

Your Expertise

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher
