Job summary

CM Tax & Insurance Solutions Group seeks a knowledgeable Tax Preparer to support clients with accurate, timely tax preparation services. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity designed for professionals who may already have clients or are building a book of business while leveraging our secure, modern platform.

Revenue-sharing terms vary by experience and client base; terms are outlined in the independent contractor agreement.

Qualifications

• Prior experience preparing tax returns or equivalent tax-related experience
• Current IRS PTIN or actively in the process of obtaining a PTIN
• Working knowledge of tax preparation concepts and filing requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and potentially business tax returns accurately and timely
• Review client documents and identify missing or inconsistent information
• Perform data validation and quality checks
• Maintain accurate and organized client files
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax preparation needs
• Identify appropriate opportunities for tax planning and advisory services
• Protect confidential client and financial information
• Follow applicable tax laws, compliance requirements, and company procedures
• Provide a professional and positive client experience
