Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Tax Associate in Dixon, IL. You will assist with the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information, and help assemble the return with signatures while reviewing the results with the client.

You will also handle bookkeeping tasks, ensure clients receive superior service, and perform other duties as assigned to support the tax team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Experience with Windows-based computer programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program to begin the interview.
• Assemble the tax return, obtain required signatures, and review the finished product with the client.
• Complete bookkeeping procedures and ensure the client receives superior service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Your Expertise

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs
• Additional state and local requirements may apply

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional course work in math, accounting, or finance
