Job summary

Allied Wealth is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Preparer to independently prepare and file federal and state tax returns for wealth-management clients. The role emphasizes professional client communication and expanding our tax services, with CPA or Enrolled Agent credentials strongly preferred.

The candidate will handle Form 1040 work, review documents, and assist with retirement planning, NUA/RSUs, and similar advanced tax issues alongside senior advisors.

Qualifications

  • CPA preferred or active Enrolled Agent designation.
  • 3+ years of individual tax preparation experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Form 1040.
  • Ability to independently prepare returns from document collection through e-file.
  • Familiarity with retirement distributions, Roth conversions and investment taxation.
  • Experience with NUA, RSUs, PSUs or executive compensation is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and electronically file federal and state individual income tax returns.
  • Prepare Form 1040 and related schedules.
  • Review W-2s, SSA-1099s, 1099-Rs, 1099-INTs, 1099-DIVs, brokerage statements and other tax documents.
  • Calculate estimated payments and extensions.
  • Communicate with clients regarding tax documents and filing questions.
  • Research and resolve individual tax issues.
  • Identify tax-planning issues that should be discussed with the client's financial advisor.
  • Assist with Roth conversions, RMDs, QCDs and retirement-income tax planning.
  • Support tax analysis involving NUA and concentrated employer stock.
  • Work with executive compensation involving RSUs and PSUs.
  • Maintain accurate records and meet federal and state filing deadlines.
  • Help improve tax-preparation workflows as the service grows.

Our firm serves approximately 2,000 client households. Many are retirees and corporate executives whose returns include Social Security income, pensions, IRA distributions, brokerage accounts, interest, dividends, capital gains and employer stock compensation.

About the Role

Allied Wealth is hiring an experienced Senior Tax Preparer to prepare and file tax returns for our wealth-management clients. We are looking for someone who can independently prepare accurate individual tax returns, communicate professionally with clients and help us gradually expand our tax services. CPA preferred. Enrolled Agents are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and electronically file federal and state individual income tax returns.
  • Prepare Form 1040 and related schedules.

Pay range and compensation package

  • Pay: $90,000–$120,000 per year + performance bonus.
  • $90,000–$120,000 annual base compensation.
