Wright Tax Services is seeking an experienced Tax Preparer to join our in-office team during tax season. You will focus on preparing accurate federal and state returns and collaborate with support staff to move returns through the process.
The role emphasizes handling a steady workload, compliance with our established procedures, and opportunities to grow within an established practice while building relationships with existing clients.

Wright Tax Services is looking for an experienced, client-focused Tax Preparer to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing accurate tax returns, works well within a team, and is interested in continuing to grow their tax knowledge and professional credentials.
This is not a remote position. The Tax Preparer is expected to work in our office during tax season. Our process is highly team-oriented and requires close collaboration with support staff and other tax preparers.
The right candidate should have a solid foundation in individual income tax preparation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a steady workload during tax season. Just as importantly, we are looking for someone who is adaptable and willing to learn and follow our established tax preparation process.
We have intentionally structured this position so Tax Preparers can spend the majority of their time preparing tax returns and addressing substantive tax matters rather than administrative work.
Clients provide tax information through in-person appointments, drop-off returns, mail-in returns, and secure digital uploads. Not every client interaction will be face-to-face.
Primary focus: manage the assigned return workload and keep returns moving through the preparation process in a timely and organized manner, regardless of how information is received.
Serving existing Wright Tax Services clients will be the first priority of this position. With anticipated retirements within our tax preparation team, we expect the person in this role to gradually assume responsibility for servicing established Wright Tax Services clients.
We are looking for someone who has the capacity and desire to take on established client relationships, maintain a consistent preparation workload, and provide those clients with excellent ongoing service.
At the same time, we are supportive of the right person developing their own book of business over time, provided the needs of existing Wright Tax Services clients continue to be met. Client assignments and growth opportunities will depend on experience, capacity, business needs, and fit and are not a guarantee of any specific number of clients or amount of business.
Candidates should meet at least one of the following:
This is a commission-based position. The specific commission structure, including compensation related to servicing existing Wright Tax Services clients and new business developed by the preparer, will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.
We value continued education and professional development. A CTEC-registered preparer who is actively pursuing the Enrolled Agent designation is welcome to apply. For the right person, this is an opportunity to become an integral part of an established practice, take on meaningful responsibility for existing client relationships, expand tax knowledge, and potentially develop a personal client base over time.
