Maitland CPA Firm seeks an experienced Tax Preparer to join a close-knit team of about 13. The role blends tax and accounting work, with a focus on individual returns, bookkeeping, and client service. You’ll work directly with an owner and seasoned staff in a small, hands-on environment.
Expect an hourly pay model based on experience plus two annual bonuses. The firm uses ProSeries for tax and QuickBooks for client work, with a collaborative culture and fast onboarding.
If you're an experienced tax professional who enjoys actually doing the work, knowing your clients and being trusted to get on with it, this could be a very good fit.
I'm working with an established CPA firm in Maitland looking to add an experienced Tax Preparer to a close knit team of around 13 people.
This isn't a big firm with six layers between you and the person making decisions. The team is made up largely of experienced tax and accounting professionals, many of whom have been with the firm for years, and the owner remains hands on and reviews the work going out.
They're looking for someone who can come in and contribute fairly quickly rather than somebody who needs a formal training program.
The role is a mixture of tax and accounting work across a broad client base, with a particularly strong need for someone comfortable preparing individual returns.
You’ll typically be working across:
The firm uses ProSeries for tax, although experience with other professional tax software will absolutely be considered.
Ideally you’ll have 5+ years of public accounting experience and be comfortable handling your own workload without needing a heavily structured training environment.
Strong 1040 experience is particularly important.
You don’t need to come from a huge firm. In fact, someone who enjoys the variety and personal feel of a smaller CPA practice will probably enjoy this environment much more.
Rather than dressing it up as a salary, it’s worth explaining how it actually works.
The firm pays an hourly rate based on experience, alongside two bonuses each year, one around tax season and another during the holiday season.
For someone who doesn’t mind putting the hours in during the periods when public accounting is naturally busiest, there’s an opportunity to make those hours financially worthwhile.
It’s a small, established firm where you’ll know the people you’re working with and won’t disappear into a huge corporate structure.
There’s variety in the work, direct access to the owner and a team containing people who’ve chosen to stay for years.
If you’re an experienced tax preparer around the Maitland / Greater Orlando area and you’d like to hear more.
