Job summary

H&R Block is seeking the next tax assistant to help start and close tax interviews with clients in Mount Pleasant, IA. You will enter client data, assemble returns, obtain signatures, and review the final product with clients, ensuring superior service.

This role emphasizes accurate data entry, clear communication, and adherence to tax procedures. Prior experience with Windows-based software is beneficial; additional state/local requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service
• All other duties as assigned
