Job summary

H&R Block in Abingdon, VA is hiring a Tax Associate to assist with the early tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program. You will help close interviews by assembling returns, obtaining signatures, and reviewing the completed product with clients to ensure accuracy.

Strong communication skills, basic math, and experience with Windows-based programs are required. Additional state and local requirements may apply; all duties accord with franchise guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program
• Assist with the closing of the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures
• Ensure all H&R Block clients are receiving superior service
• All other duties as assigned
