Overview
Goodwin seeks a highly qualified associate (J.D. Class 2022-2023) to join our Tax practice. Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in general transactional tax work. The tax group works closely with the firm's corporate practice and advises clients on a variety of tax matters including corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; partnerships, LLCs and other joint ventures; private equity and private equity fund formation; real estate, real estate fund formation and real estate investment trusts; regulated investment companies; and financing and capital markets transactions. Responsibilities
- Provide transactional tax support for corporate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and related financing and capital markets transactions, in collaboration with the corporate practice.
- Advise on partnerships, LLCs and other joint ventures; private equity and private equity fund formation; real estate and real estate fund formation; real estate investment trusts; and regulated investment companies.
- Work with clients to structure transactions in a tax-efficient manner and support execution of deals.
Qualifications
- J.D. (class of 2022-2023) and 3-4 years of experience in general transactional tax work.
- Strong record of working in teams and managing substantial components of transactions independently.
- Outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- General bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly.
