Eide Bailly LLP in Utah is seeking a Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements, blending compliance and planning across diverse clients. The role emphasizes international tax matters and strong teamwork with a robust tax group.

You will prepare and review returns, mentor staff, and support business development while staying current on IRS regulations. Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
• 5+ years of tax experience, including international clients (2+ years).
• Familiarity with Form 5471, Net Tested Income, 8858, and 8865.
• Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
• Proactive with up-to-date knowledge of tax industry regulations.
• Able to work independently and in a team; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and sign individual and business tax returns.

• Collaborate with tax team to cover planning, client interaction and special projects.

Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Tax Manager might include the following:

• Prepares, reviews, and signs individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries.
• Serves clients on a variety of international tax planning and compliance matters, including forms 5471, 8858, and 8865
• Working with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed -- including tax planning, client interaction and performing special tax projects.
• Looking at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
• Developing solutions and communicating those solutions to the engagement team and client.
• Manages client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
• Participates in the area of business development.
• May assist with client billings to ensure they reflect work performed.
• Supervises and delegates duties to Associate and Senior Associate level staff.
• Provides mentoring and technical training for employees in the tax department.
• Attends training seminars, professional development, and networking events.

Who You Are

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• You have a CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
• You have 5+ years of tax experience. You have 2+ years of experience working with international clients.
• You have familiarity with Form 5471, Net Tested Income, 8858, and 8865
• You have extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
• You actively stay up-to-date on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies.
• You are a self-starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
• You are able to focus on complex tasks and will quickly understand the firm's comprehensive compliance processes.
