Qualifications

  • 5+ years of public accounting experience required.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and tax workpapers.
  • Experience in in-charge, mentoring, supervision, or people management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and planning.
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tax engagements while coordinating staff, seniors, and engagement team members.
  • Review complex federal and state tax returns, workpapers, and related deliverables for accuracy and quality.
  • Provide thoughtful tax planning recommendations aligned with clients' business goals.
  • Serve as a trusted client contact, answering tax questions and building relationships.
  • Coach and mentor developing professionals with timely feedback and guidance.
  • Identify tax issues, opportunities, and solutions to add client value.
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, workflow, and profitability.
  • Assist clients with notices, regulatory matters, and audits.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, brokers, and authorities.
  • Help develop new and existing client relationships to grow the practice.

Location:

Latham, NY. This is a hybrid opportunity with at least 3 days per week on-site. We are ideally looking for someone who lives within approximately a 45-minute commute of the Latham office.


Note:

Candidates must have 5+ years of public accounting experience, including experience reviewing complex tax returns and serving in an in-charge, supervisory, mentoring, or team leadership capacity.

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of public accounting experience required.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or a related discipline.

  • Experience reviewing complicated tax returns and tax workpapers.

  • Prior experience serving as an in-charge, mentor, supervisor, or people manager.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and tax planning.

  • Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements, deadlines, and priorities.

  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred, but not required.
