Job summary

CohnReznick is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Connecticut offices, primarily within Private Client Services for UHNWIs and family offices. The role emphasizes executive presence, relationship building, and leadership across client teams, webinars, and seminars.

The successful candidate will own client engagements, manage tax planning and research, and supervise tax staff while delivering compliant and strategic tax services.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience in another public accounting firm.
  • PCS experience required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure required.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of tax software such as CCH Axcess.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable development, and billing and collections.
  • Leading and managing multiple tax engagements that integrate tax efficiency with long-term tax planning strategies.
  • Presenting federal and state income tax returns and strategizing for clients.
  • Working with all types of business entities including corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, fiduciary, and foundations.
  • Identifying industry/client tax planning opportunities and issues.
  • Implementing tax advice in response to new legislations and planning.
  • Facilitating complex tax research, and establishing tax strategies for various client business transactions.
  • Advising regarding IRS and state issues, and responding to correspondence and audits.
  • Assisting with interim tax projections and year end closeouts.
  • Providing supervision, training, and mentoring to tax staff, seniors and other team members.

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Manager to join the team in one of our Connecticut offices.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

This position is rooted within the Private Client Services practice with a focus on tax services for Family Offices and UHNWIs. We work with clients to help them achieve their goals around complex financial matters tied to their business, individual and familial needs. The right candidate will own the attributes of executive presence and emotional intelligence, as well as having a growth mindset. They will also be eager to collaborate on client teams, thought leadership, webinars, and seminars while remaining results focused on assisting both internal and external clients in achieving their wide-ranging goals.

YOUR ROLE.

YOUR EXPERIENCE.
The successful candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of work experience in another public accounting firm
  • PCS experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure required
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of tax software such as CCH Axcess
  • Exceptional organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
