Job summary

Primary Recruiting Services seeks an experienced Tax Senior ready to advance to a Manager-level position. You will own corporate income tax compliance across the U.S. and Canada, preparing returns and coordinating with external consultants while guiding a Tax Analyst.

This role offers mentorship from senior leadership and a clear path to leadership. The position requires 5+ years of corporate tax experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of ASC 740.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• 5+ years of corporate income tax experience with strong federal and multistate compliance knowledge.
• Hands-on experience preparing corporate income tax returns and supporting tax compliance activities.
• Public accounting and/or corporate tax department experience.
• ASC 740 tax provision experience preferred.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Advanced Excel skills required; Oracle or similar ERP experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, local, and Canadian corporate income tax returns.
• Manage income tax compliance activities, including coordination with external tax consultants.
• Assist with quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions, deferred taxes, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions.
• Develop and maintain tax workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather and analyze financial information for tax reporting and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor a Tax Analyst, providing guidance and reviewing work.
• Support tax audits, technical research, internal controls, and special projects.
• Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen departmental efficiencies.
