Job summary

Carr, Riggs & Ingram, L.L.C. is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to lead final reviews of tax returns and related documents for a broad client base. You will research tax issues, stay current with tax law changes, and coordinate client interactions to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates bring CPA/EA/JD credentials, at least 5 years in public accounting, strong leadership, and a calm, organized approach under pressure while developing staff and pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• CPA/EA/JD required (CPA preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Well-developed decision-making skills and initiative
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Prioritize a heavy workload and stay organized

Responsibilities

• Provide a final technical review on tax returns and documents for the majority of client base
• Research tax issues and provide resolutions/recommendations
• Stay abreast of developments in tax law and accounting procedures
• Coordinate and manage client planning, scheduling and deadlines
• Communicate with clients to protect their best interests
• Lead and develop staff and supervisors to meet objectives and budgets
• Monitor quality of products and staff performance
• Assign and track tasks to staff/supervisors for preparation
• Nurture internal and external networks to develop new business opportunities
• Oversee real-time and monthly billing, WIP, aging and write-downs
• Support and participate in in-house CPE and training activities
