Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tax Manager for our public accounting practice in Grand Rapids. You will lead the tax engagements, review returns for partnerships, S/C corps, and individuals, and deliver quality results on time and within budget.

You will mentor staff, provide tax-saving strategies, and advise clients based on their industries. Strong collaboration and client-service mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MST preferred.
• CPA license required.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience, manager level

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns for Partnerships (1065), S-Corps (1120), Individuals (1040), and others as assigned; take ownership of the team delivering quality results on time and within budget.
• Mentor staff and seniors during engagements.
• Provide consulting and tax-saving strategies to clients, research tax issues, and identify opportunities to provide additional services.
• Demonstrate proactive client planning and make suggestions to create greater value for clients.
• Learn about clients' industries, needs, processes, and overall business to better advise them.
• Effectively schedule and staff engagements, working to improve realization and utilization.
• Proactively build a referral network of bankers and other professionals.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and agreed-upon procedures set forth by clients.
