Job summary

The Personnel Consulting Group in Dothan, AL is seeking a Tax Manager to lead client engagements, perform return reviews, and mentor professional staff. Working directly with Tax Partners and the Managing Partner, you will drive strategic tax planning and oversee department workflow and quality.

Located in the Greater Dothan Area with on-site work and hybrid options, this role reports to Tax Partners and supervises Seniors, Staff, and Interns.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Demonstrated history of managing tax engagements and supervising accounting staff
• Clear written and verbal communication with ability to translate complex tax rules into client advice

Responsibilities

• Oversee federal, state, and local tax return preparation and review across corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, estates, and non-profits
• Manage project timelines, team workflow, realization rates, and engagement profitability across diverse client portfolios
• Perform complex tax research and identify proactive tax-saving opportunities; communicate with tax authorities
• Supervise and train Seniors, Staff, and Interns with direct feedback and coaching
• Build strong client relationships and participate in local networking initiatives
