Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a Tax Manager in San Antonio, TX. This full-time hybrid role involves tax planning, compliance, client advisory, and developing a team of tax professionals.

You will work directly with business owners and individual clients, review returns, provide planning guidance, and lead staff. CPA license and 4+ years of public accounting are required; enjoy strong benefits and career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client tax engagements involving planning, compliance, and preparation and review of federal and state returns.
  • Review corporate, trust, individual, and other tax filings for accuracy and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
  • Advise clients on tax matters and develop proactive planning strategies that support their financial objectives.
  • Analyze client tax information and identify opportunities to improve tax outcomes.
  • Communicate directly with clients and tax authorities regarding questions and notices.
  • Research tax issues and stay current on new legislation, regulations, and emerging tax developments.
  • Identify additional ways our team can support clients and strengthen long term client relationships.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and delegate work to tax staff while helping the team meet deadlines and maintain high quality standards.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Location

This is a full time hybrid opportunity based in San Antonio, Texas. Our team works in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with Mondays and Fridays worked outside the office. The initial interview will be virtual.

Note

Candidates must hold an active CPA license and have 4+ years of public accounting experience. This role is designed for an experienced tax professional who can confidently manage client relationships, review tax work, provide tax planning guidance, and help lead and develop staff.
