Job summary

Doeren Mayhew, a national tax, assurance and advisory firm, is seeking a Tax Manager for our Punta Gorda & Miami, FL offices. The role leads tax compliance and planning engagements, ensuring technical quality, cost effectiveness, accuracy, and timeliness.

The Tax Manager will review complex returns, supervise engagements, mentor staff, and develop client relationships while managing billing and collections. CPA required with 5+ years domestic tax experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA license required.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in domestic tax.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to train, coach, and mentor others.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review private company tax returns (C-Corp, S-Corp), partnerships, and individual returns for federal and state.
• Lead engagements from planning through completion; manage tax compliance, planning, and provision projects.
• Review estimated tax payments and extensions.
• Research and review tax issues.
• Proactively address client issues and identify value opportunities.
• Coach and mentor staff; provide direct feedback.
• Supervise team to meet client and partner expectations.
• Serve as primary client contact for billing, realization, and collections.
• Develop and execute practice development activities (networking, client expansion).

Doeren Mayhew is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Punta Gorda & Miami, FL office. This role is responsible for leading tax compliance and planning engagements, delivering high-quality client service through technical quality control, cost effectiveness, accuracy, and timeliness.

Responsibilities:

• Review private company C-Corp, S-Corp, partnership, individual federal and state tax returns, including consolidated federal tax returns and consolidated/combined state tax returns.
• Lead engagements from planning through completion; plan, execute and complete tax compliance, tax planning, and provision projects on a timely basis and within budget.
• Review estimated tax payments and extensions.
• Research and review tax issues.
• Proactively anticipate and solve client issues, seek opportunities to add value to projects.
• Coach and mentor staff helping them achieve their career goals.
• Provide staff direct and meaningful feedback.
• Effectively supervise team to meet client and partner expectations.
• Serve as the primary client contact with economic responsibilities for billing, realization, and collections.
• Begin to develop and execute a practice development plan including networking, new client development and client expansion activities.
