Job summary

Synectics Inc. in Georgia seeks an experienced Tax Professional to deliver accurate, technically sound tax work, review returns, and stay current on tax legislation.

You will coach staff, supervise engagements, mentor junior accountants, and collaborate with Tax Managers to drive client success. Strong communication and relationship-building are essential, with a focus on tax-saving strategies and maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

  • CPA certificate is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Master's in Tax or Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of business, individual, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.
  • Proficiency with tax software; UltraTax preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and supervision experience.
  • Excellent client service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and technically sound tax work with attention to detail.
  • Review tax returns thoroughly and timely, identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Prepare responses and documentation for income tax audits.
  • Stay current on tax legislation and communicate updates to the tax team.
  • Develop strategies to help clients maintain tax compliance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Serve as a client-facing advisor focused on tax-saving strategies.
  • Coach and mentor staff; advise, train, and coach team members.
  • Supervise staff and senior accountants; oversee engagements and delegate work.
  • Collaborate with Tax Managers and firm leadership to drive team success.
  • Provide constructive feedback to staff to promote development.
  • Identify opportunities to grow services with existing clients.
  • Develop relationships with clients, referral sources, and community organizations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively while also independently researching and resolving complex tax matters.
