Job description

The Tax Manager position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills. As a key member of our team, you will foster a collaborative environment, promote positivity, and uphold high standards of professionalism within the firm. You will be responsible for managing tax-related matters, including identifying and addressing cybersecurity threats, cultivating client relationships, and providing strategic guidance. Additionally, you will supervise tax return preparation, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development efforts. The ideal candidate will possess an active CPA license, extensive experience in tax compliance work, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting positivity and collaboration.
  • Maintain professional presentation and uphold high communication standards within the firm.
  • Take ownership of actions and continuously expand expertise in tax-related matters.
  • Actively seek feedback for self-improvement opportunities and participate in training events.
  • Identify and manage cybersecurity threats, review safeguarding protocols, and address technical risks related to tax laws.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, prioritize client service excellence, and engage in strategic discussions.
  • Demonstrate specialized knowledge in tax planning and return preparation, supervising tax return preparation for accuracy.
  • Provide leadership by developing junior staff, managing workloads effectively, and ensuring timely completion of engagements.
  • Initiate and develop relationships with prospective clients, understanding market competitiveness, and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Participate in external networking groups to expand the firm's reach and visibility.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA with a minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance work.
  • Experience working in a professional office is preferred but not required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
  • Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods.Preferred experience includes: preparation and technical review of Form 1065s, Schedule K-1s/K-3s, international reporting, and multi-state compliance.
