Job summary

Atlas Search in Houston, TX is seeking a Tax Manager focusing on Oil & Gas private equity fund structures. You will own tax compliance, JV allocations, K-1 review, and investor reporting across a multi-entity fund platform.

You will interact with deal teams, CFOs, and investor relations, bringing 4+ years of Big 10 or Oil & Gas tax experience and a hands-on approach to cross‑functional collaboration in a fast-paced setting, with openness to AI tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years Big 10 and/or Oil & Gas tax experience.
• Working knowledge of Oil & Gas tax issues (depletion, recapture, IDCs).
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and large datasets.
• Comfort working cross-functionally in a small, fast-paced team.
• Willingness to adopt and leverage AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax matters for Oil & Gas joint ventures and portfolio companies
• Review partnership allocations and K-1 packages
• Support transactions and coordinate outsourced tax compliance
• Forecast taxable income and tax holdbacks on distributions
• Handle corporate returns, E&P calculations, and quarterly filings
• Maintain tax dashboards and internal reporting
• Respond to investor tax queries and DDQs
