Job summary

RODELL SEARCH is seeking an experienced Tax Manager for its family office environment in Fort Worth, TX. The role focuses on tax compliance, planning, and reporting across diverse entities, including trusts, partnerships, and investment structures, with exposure to high-net-worth individuals.

You will collaborate with leadership, external advisors, and investment professionals to optimize tax outcomes and ensure accuracy across federal and state taxes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive tax experience.
  • Strong experience with partnership, individual, trust, and/or investment-related taxation.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private equity, investment management, or a public accounting firm strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Experience reviewing complex tax returns and working with external tax advisors.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential financial and personal information.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and other entities.
  • Manage the annual tax compliance process, including coordination with external CPA firms and tax advisors.
  • Review tax returns, tax workpapers, K-1s, estimated tax calculations, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, family members, trusts, estates, partnerships, and investment entities.
  • Analyze the tax implications of investments, acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and other transactions.
  • Monitor changes in federal and state tax legislation and assess their impact on the family office and its entities.
  • Coordinate with investment, accounting, legal, and wealth management professionals on tax-related matters.
  • Assist with cash-flow and estimated tax planning for family members and related entities.
  • Oversee tax notices, audits, correspondence, and other communications with taxing authorities.
  • Maintain detailed and organized tax records, workpapers, and documentation.
  • Assist with tax reporting related to private equity, venture capital, real estate, partnerships, and other alternative investments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting, and overall efficiency.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc tax planning initiatives as needed.

About the Opportunity

A highly respected and well-established family office is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing tax and accounting team. The Tax Manager will play a key role in managing tax compliance, planning, and reporting across a diverse portfolio of family-owned entities, trusts, partnerships, investments, and individual tax returns. This position will work closely with family office leadership, internal accounting professionals, external tax advisors, and investment professionals.


Key Responsibilities
