We’re partnering with a growing Denver-based organization seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its accounting and finance leadership team.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of tax but doesn’t want to spend their entire career simply preparing returns. You’ll have exposure to tax strategy, compliance, provision work, planning, business transactions, and senior leadership while helping shape how the tax function operates as the organization continues to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing as Tax Manager
- Manage federal, state, and local income tax compliance and related filings
- Support quarterly and annual income tax provision work under ASC 740
- Review tax accounts, reconciliations, and provision-to-return adjustments
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and service providers
- Research technical tax issues and provide recommendations to leadership
- Identify tax planning opportunities and potential areas of exposure
- Support tax considerations related to acquisitions, investments, financing, and other business transactions
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other teams on tax-related initiatives
- Manage tax notices, audits, and inquiries from taxing authorities
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential business impact
- Strengthen tax processes, documentation, controls, and reporting
- Help improve the use of technology and automation within the tax function
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other members of the accounting and tax organization
What You Bring as Tax Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
- 6+ years of progressive tax experience preferred
- Corporate tax and/or public accounting experience
- Strong understanding of federal and state income taxation
- Experience with corporate tax compliance and tax provision work
- Working knowledge of ASC 740
- Ability to research and communicate complex tax matters clearly
- Experience working with external tax advisors and cross-functional business partners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently
- Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with leadership
- CPA strongly preferred.
