Role Description

The Tax Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Battle Ground, WA. This position is responsible for managing and reviewing tax engagements for clients, including corporations, partnerships, and individuals.

Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing tax preparation and compliance, leading tax planning initiatives, researching and interpreting tax law, and ensuring filings meet regulatory standards and deadlines. The Tax Manager will supervise and mentor staff, manage client relationships, and collaborate with partners to identify advisory opportunities that support client growth and risk management. The role also involves monitoring changes in tax regulations and industry practices to maintain high-quality, proactive service.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong skills in tax planning and tax strategy development for business and individual clients.
  • Candidates should possess skills in tax compliance, including oversight of filings and adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Candidates should possess skills in tax preparation and review for entities common in the construction industry (e.g., C corps, S corps, partnerships).
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of tax law and the broader tax regulatory environment affecting construction businesses.
  • Candidates should possess a solid foundation in general tax principles and practices relevant to public accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred; bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Several years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, ideally with real estate and construction or project-based clients.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience supervising staff, providing feedback, and supporting professional development.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build collaborative, long-term client relationships.
