Job summary

Purvis Gray’s Tax Internship in Tallahassee is designed for accounting students to apply classroom learning to real client work. Interns work with tax professionals, gain exposure to various clients and industries, and build skills for a career in public accounting.

You will prepare various tax returns, assist with projections and planning, use tax software, research tax questions, and organize client information while maintaining confidentiality and professional integrity.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Completion of at least one tax course (Individual or Corporate taxation) prior to start.
• Intends to meet CPA licensure requirements after graduation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and workpapers under guidance.
• Assist with tax projections, estimates, and client planning activities.
• Use tax/accounting software to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
• Research tax questions and summarize findings for review.
• Organize and review client information for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with team members regarding tasks and deadlines.
• Handle confidential client information with professionalism and integrity.
• Participate in training, meetings, and learning opportunities in tax/public accounting.
• Complete additional projects supporting client service and professional development.
