Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services in Austin, TX to support the preparation of returns and extensions under supervision of experienced professionals. This role offers hands-on exposure to tax compliance and client service, helping you build critical relationships early in your career while pursuing CPA licensure.

You will gain practical experience with tax software, ASC 740 concepts, and day-to-day workflows that drive the tax practice, in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Masters in Accounting or related field.
• Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Aspire to CPA licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing returns and extensions under supervision.
• Support data collection and reference materials for filings.
• Work with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review.
• Help with quarterly estimates and extensions as needed.
• Assist in responding to notices and projections related to tax filings.
