KPMG LLP is seeking a Tax Intern to join the Global Mobility Services practice in California. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide international tax, compensation, benefits and HR-related services, while building skills in AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.

The internship requires enrollment in an accredited program with CPA eligibility considerations, and involves on-site work with travel to client sites as needed. A strong academic record and collaborative mindset are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing degrees in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent program.
  • After internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before degree and CPA eligibility.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data analytics preferred.
  • Strong analytical, consultative and project management skills with ability to research and explain tax issues clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply AI, Alteryx and Power BI, MS Office including Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook.
  • Must reside within commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Build capabilities in technologies like AI, Alteryx, Power BI to enable client service delivery.

KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern to join our Global Mobility Services practice.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage a diverse array of skill sets to provide international companies with global tax, compensation, benefits and HR-related services by working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Serve as a direct contact while you compile and calculate compensation and benefit deductions and costs, review compensation provisions and assess applicable tax rules, support Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence work with regard to employee compensation as well as employer benefits and participate in drafting white papers/reports on relevant topics in the global rewards space
  • Work with KPMG offices across the globe providing guidance and worldwide coordination for mobility tax support; work collaboratively with tax and human resource professionals within multinational companies to manage the tax implications of their global workforce
  • Participate in and contribute to external market and business activities
  • Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more
Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelors and/or Masters in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent program
  • Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science or data and analytics preferred
  • Strong analytical, consultative and project management skills; ability to research and analyze tax issues, rules and regulations and provide clear communication of the results to colleagues or clients
  • Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills. Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx and Power BI, MS Office Applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook and apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills, feedback oriented, and resourceful in delivering high quality work
  • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
