Hawkins Ash CPAs, LLP is seeking 2028 Spring Tax Interns to gain hands-on tax experience in a collaborative environment. The internship offers training, real client work, and mentorship from staff and partners to build technical skills and professional relationships.

You will prepare individual and business tax returns, conduct tax research, and assist in financial statement preparation while exploring a potential full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Completed corporate or individual taxation class.
• Actively pursuing credits to sit for the CPA exam.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on tax-related experience.
• Prepare individual and business income tax returns.
• Conduct tax research and report findings to supervisor.
• Assist in preparing timely financial statements.
• Learn from staff and Partners and observe client engagements.
• Participate in January Intern Training to build skills.
• Support supervision with project tasks and deadlines.
• Demonstrate strong work ethic and interest in pursuing a full-time role.

What you'll do:

• Gain hands-on tax-related experience
• Participate in the January Intern Training event to help you obtain the technical skills needed to start contributing right away
• Receive on-the-job training and real-world experience working with clients; putting what you learned in the classroom to use
• Have the opportunity to work directly with staff -from Associates to Partners- and learn directly from them
• Prepare individual and business income tax returns
• Conduct tax research and convey information to your supervisor
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements to enable effective and informed decision-making
• Demonstrate your work ethic, knowledge, and interest in joining Hawkins Ash CPAs full-time
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Our ideal candidate will:

• Currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Have completed a corporate or individual taxation class
• Actively be achieving credits to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam
• Have excellent skills in communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Exhibit strong computer skills, especially proficient in Microsoft Office
