Job summary

Hannis T. Bourgeois (HTB) is seeking a motivated accounting student to join our Tax Team in a developing role.

You will learn to support tax professionals under the guidance of seniors, supervisors, managers, and partners, while gaining hands-on client experience and firm processes. As part of HTB's commitment to growth, you will build familiarity with tax return preparation and related documentation, stay current on tax issues, and develop proficiency with accounting software and research tools

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university.
• Zero (0) to Two (2) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Learns and assists tax professionals under direction of Seniors, Supervisors, Manager, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• Becomes familiar with the firm's policies and procedures including tax return preparation and procedures, including documentation and processing.
• Keeps current on technical issues and learns to apply them to client circumstances.
• Becomes proficient in the use of the various software programs used by the firm. Also becomes familiar with research tools used by the firm.
• Learns to prepare and process client tax returns.
