Job summary

Mission Staffing in Connecticut seeks an experienced tax professional to lead a new HNW tax program for a high-profile investment organization. You will own end-to-end tax compliance for trusts, estates, and individual returns, and coordinate with outside CPA firms and internal leaders.

You will partner with the CFO and in-house counsel on tax structuring for new investments, build scalable processes, and centralize knowledge of trusts and estate plans.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of high-net-worth tax experience (public accounting, advisory, family office, or fund).
• Experience with trusts, estates, gift tax, and related matters.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication with family members and senior leadership.
• Ability to operate as an owner/coordinator rather than a preparer of tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Run the tax compliance program end to end across families' entities, trusts, and individual returns.
• Coordinate with outside CPA firms, routing key information and inputs.
• Manage CPA firms' timelines, deliverables, and quality, holding them accountable to deadlines.
• Review work product and returns, issue-spot and escalate before filings.
• Partner with CFO and in-house counsel on tax structuring for new investments.
• Build processes and leverage technology to reduce informal workflows.
• Own and centralize knowledge of trusts, wills, estate plans, and entity structures.
• Act as project owner for complex family matters from intake through resolution.
