Qualifications

• Active CPA license required.
• 20+ years of progressive tax experience, incl. 5–10 years in a leadership role in public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local tax law for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts.
• Proven success in client service and developing lasting client relationships.
• Excellent leadership, team management, communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tax compliance for diverse returns across a book of business.
• Provide high-level tax advisory services, planning and consulting for businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and present actionable recommendations.
• Mentor and develop tax staff through training and feedback.
• Coordinate IRS and state audits, including negotiations and dispute resolution.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with firm policies.
• Lead implementation of tax software solutions to improve efficiency.
• Review complex tax returns for federal, state and local compliance.
• Monitor tax law changes and communicate effects to clients and firm.
• Collaborate with partners on business development and client expansion.
• Build and maintain client relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Assist clients with tax notices and correspondence from authorities.
• Lead tax planning and projections for multi-entity structures.
