Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a Tax Director for our well established regional CPA firm with strong profitability and a balanced work life. The role offers excellent benefits including large potential bonuses and a 5% employer contribution to your 401K.

You will lead the tax function, review complex returns, and guide planning for SEC and closely held clients, with a fast track toward Partnership.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of public accounting experience with increasing tax complexity.
• At least 2 years representing clients before tax authorities.
• Minimum 1 year supervising and directing tax preparers.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s in taxation preferred.
• At least 40 hours of continuing education annually.
• CPA license currently active and in good standing with AICPA.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and examinations.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in discipline or industry.
• Leads client service within budgeted time and delegates as needed.
• Represents client before taxing authorities when required.
• Provides training and coaching to senior staff and managers.
• Maintains knowledge of tax developments affecting clients.
