Job summary

Elevate LLC in Raleigh is seeking a seasoned tax leader to build and expand the firm’s tax practice. You will lead client engagements, manage a growing team, and collaborate with Elevate’s leadership to deliver high‑quality advisory and compliance services.

Candidates should hold an active CPA license with 10+ years in business taxation, ideally from a Big 4 or large firm, and possess strong client relationships, mentoring skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset within a growth‑driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and expand the tax practice for the Raleigh partner firm, with responsibility for growth, client service, and team leadership.
• Deliver high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to entrepreneurial businesses, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Review tax closings, oversee preparation of individual and business entity returns.
• Respond to client inquiries on compliance matters including income tax, franchise tax, sales/use tax, labor, and benefits.
• Conduct intermediate tax and accounting research to ensure accurate reporting.
• Develop budgets and pricing, select staff, assign workloads, and prepare reports.
• Drive practice growth through expansion of services to existing clients and proactive business development.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insight on complex tax issues and structuring opportunities.
• Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing tax team, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused culture.
• Collaborate with Elevate's leadership team and shared services to leverage technology, innovation, and best practices across the platform.
