Job summary

The City of Alpharetta is seeking a Tax & Billing Manager to lead our billing, property tax, and collections operations. This key leadership role oversees daily municipal billing functions, supervises staff, and coordinates with Fulton County on tax digest processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and at least four years in billing and collections, with strong knowledge of Georgia tax laws and excellent communication skills to serve the community.

Salary Range: $82,900 – $132,760 (Midpoint: $107,830)

In this key leadership role, you will oversee daily municipal billing functions, supervise dedicated team members, manage tax digest processes in coordination with Fulton County, and ensure high standards of accuracy, compliance, and customer service for our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Supervision: Guide, train, and evaluate assigned staff while maintaining a customer-focused, high-performance environment.
• Billing & Revenue Operations: Oversee tax, sanitation, and municipal billing system data, troubleshoot software processes, and maintain master databases.
• Collections & Compliance: Manage delinquent account resolution, negotiate payment plans, and issue legal notices/tax liens in compliance with state, federal, and local standards.
• Analysis & Reporting: Prepare financial schedules, audit billing queries, analyze business workflows, and report key metrics to senior management.
