Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) is seeking Tax/Audit Interns for St. Cloud, Monticello, Brainerd, and Alexandria, MN locations.

The role involves preparing diverse tax returns and performing audit and assurance work while gaining hands-on experience and exposure to clients and processes. Minimum requirements include progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA exam eligibility, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree; Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt.
• Proficient with MS Office; reliable transportation and travel to client sites.

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
• Performs audit, review, compilation, and assurance services.
• Gains experience with procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget.
• Expands industry knowledge through peers, clients and training.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates with clients and CLA family members regularly.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
• Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge, through greater exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.

Minimum Requirements

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $27.00 - $31.00
