Job summary

CLA is looking for Tax and Audit Interns to join our Champaign, Bloomington, and Peoria offices. We emphasize curiosity, collaboration, transparency, inclusivity, and reliability, and provide opportunities to work with clients while learning firm procedures.

Interns will prepare tax returns, support engagements, and gain exposure to training and industry knowledge while traveling to client sites as needed. This program supports CPA pathway development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (strongly preferred).
• Eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with MS Windows and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
• Gains experience with procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge through exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members regularly.
