Job summary

Welch, Couch & Company, PA is seeking an accountant to work directly with clients and firm leadership on diverse projects across Arkansas and Missouri. This hands-on role offers real client responsibility and clear advancement opportunities within a collaborative firm.

You will prepare tax returns, perform audits and reviews, and contribute to financial statements and disclosures while mentoring junior staff and staying current with GAAP/GAAS standards. This is an on-site, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related field with sufficient coursework).
• 2+ years of public accounting audit/assurance experience.
• CPA license or active progress toward CPA.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
• Strong working knowledge of income taxation for individuals & businesses.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites (travel is limited).
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Preparing income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Planning and performing audit, review, and compilation engagements across a range of industries.
• Preparing and reviewing workpapers, financial statements, and related disclosures.
• Testing internal controls and identifying areas of risk.
• Communicating findings and recommendations to clients and engagement leaders.
• Staying current on GAAP, GAAS, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Mentoring and reviewing the work of less-experienced team members as appropriate.
