Pivotal Finance, headquartered in Auburn, AL, is seeking a Tax Associate to prepare a range of tax returns and support planning, research, and compliance for clients nationwide. This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys solving problems and collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality service.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Accounting and 1+ year in public accounting tax, with CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
1+ years of public accounting experience with a focus in tax or recent graduates who show a desire to learn.
CPA is preferred but not required; familiarity with AL/GA tax returns is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare individual, partnership, S-corp, and C-corp tax returns and transactional tax work.
Prepare tax workpapers and adjusting entries on business returns.
Adjust client-provided financials for correct reporting.
Research tax laws to ensure compliance with current regulations.
Assist with tax planning, projections, forecasting, and client communication.
Maintain organized tax records and client documentation.
Participate in training programs to expand tax knowledge.
Assist with special tax projects as needed.
