Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC is seeking a Tax Associate to prepare tax returns and support audits and management services for tax clients. A college degree in accounting is required and CPA exam progress is preferred. You will engage in engagements across various entity types and tax planning activities, in-office or in the field.

The role emphasizes accuracy, client interaction, and staying current with tax laws. Travel may be required as engagements demand.

Qualifications

• Well-rounded knowledge of GAAP and GAAS as defined in accounting/auditing literature.
• Working knowledge of federal and state income tax laws for tax return prep.
• Ability to speak and write effectively; professional demeanor.

Responsabilités

• Assist with study and evaluation of internal accounting controls.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Examine client reconciliations of bank and subsidiary accounts; investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare schedules for accruals and write-offs of prepaid expenses and deferred charges.
• Work on S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, Multi-State, Individual, trust and estate tax returns.
• Stay up-to-date with tax laws and regulations; provide tax planning and compliance services.
