H&R Block in Alabama is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work directly with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates.

You'll learn tax fundamentals on day one, with an emphasis on explaining tax concepts clearly, spotting savings opportunities, and delivering excellent client service in a retail tax office setting. This in-person role offers an hourly wage with peak-season hours up to 40 per week.

About The Role

As a seasonal Tax Associate at H&R Block, you'll begin a career in tax and client services—no prior tax experience required. With training and support from day one, you'll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable skills and strong client relationships. You'll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase your earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Required Qualifications

• Problem‑solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in a client‑facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
• Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on customer needs
• Ability to work 15-35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
