Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates. You’ll explain tax information clearly and offer recommendations to help clients maximize savings.

As part of the role, you will identify opportunities for tax savings and promote relevant products and services. Candidates should be ready to learn, collaborate with colleagues, and deliver excellent client service in a busy office

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving abilities including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

As a seasonal Tax Associate at H&R Block, you’ll begin a career in tax and client services—no prior tax experience required. With training and support from day one, you’ll work directly with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions while building valuable skills and strong client relationships. You’ll earn a competitive hourly rate, with opportunities to increase your earnings as you build tax knowledge and grow in the role. This role is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Required Qualifications

• Comfort using digital tools and systems included AI based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience in a client-facing or consultative role, such as financial advising, insurance, retail sales, or professional services
• Experience asking questions and recommending solutions based on customer needs
• Ability to work 15–35 hours per week, with availability up to 40 hours during peak periods
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season
